Workin' It.

(Edited to add: Visit this post to get more information on purchasing one of these tables for yourself!)

My awesome husband built me an awesome work table 4-5 months ago.

It's awesome, and perfect.

And I haven't shown pictures off because I wanted to paint it first.

And now 4-5 months later, it's painted, and has pretty vinyl lettering on it.

Whoopsie!

He did such an awesome job. It's more than I hoped for!

  31. We jsut built one in my hobby room last month - almost identical to yours. But we want locking hinges to hold the legs in a 90 degree open position when the table is dropped/in use. Did you use anything to stop and hold frame/legs in the open position?

  40. JUST AWESOME - TOO COOL / TOO SMART - REALLY - ARE YOU GOING TO POST THE "HOW TO" ?? WE ALL WANT IT :))

    ReplyDelete
  41. Oh my goodness!! Thank you so much for this post! I have seen the idea of a table from a large picture and I will be doing that in our kitchen for a buffet table. When I saw this post on Pinterest I went wild with ideas!! My MIL will be making her table just like your post but I want to put one in my son's room with a lego top where the green lego boards are glued to it. I was also thinking about making the table a false top so it can be removed and flipped over and he can have a flat surface for Army men or cars or homework or whatever. I don't think I would put the shelves in his so the lego creations can fit in the space when he folds up the table. THANKS for the great idea!! I hope others go crazy and make it work for them too. So many possibilities!!

  45. This is a fantastic work table! This is inspiring! I just moved my studio from our basement to our second bedroom that had been wasted space. We live in a super small row house in Baltimore so I've been struggling with ways to organize all of my supplies into such a small space. This may be just the trick! Thanks so much for this!

This is just wonderful!!! He did a great job and I love how the picture frame is used for the legs! Brilliant

    ReplyDelete
  53. I LOVE this ... & have come up with a few other ways it can be used, especially in my home .. Here are just some of the uses ... :-)

Laundry - folding table … could even be placed above the washing machine, even if it's a top-loader.

Kitchen - spare table for one with space in the 'wall shelving' for sauces, etc.
    Kitchen - work bench

    Walk-in robe - pc desk

Bathroom - beside bath bench with space too keep items handy for 'special items' for a luxurious bath

Guest Room - desk space for guests

Guest Room - bench for above floor suitcase storage - a towel rail on the 'door' would also allow space for a damp towel & a rail underneath would allow extra hanging space …

Guest Room - Put a picture frame on the 'legs' & use the middle space as a backing board for a painting.

Office - Put a cork board, peg board, or pretty notice board onto the front. Frame the 'legs' with a picture frame.
